Palais Garnier- Phantom Of The Opera

Hello Everyone! Bonjour!

I am a huge Phantom of the Opera fan, and I thought that the Palais Garnier Opera House might be an interesting place to visit on one of our free days.

Its is about 4 euros to tour it freely between performances.

Some creepy history... In 1896, one of the counter-weights for the chandelier fell, killing one. This, as well as the underground lake and other elements of the Opera House, inspired Gaston Leroux to write his classic Gothic novel, The Phantom of the Opera.

Exciting stuff as well as this lovely ceiling painted by Marc Chagall.

This is just the beginning of a long line of pictures we all took but for those of you that are anxious to see us on the streets of Paris, these are my personal photo's. You should know that at one point, I handed my camera to Lauren Gragg (since her camera went dead and I have already been to Paris and have a ton of photo's of all of these same places) to snap pics at Versailles. British Airways flight #196 leaves at 9:35pm (Intercontinental) and arrives in London (Heathrow)at 11:25am changing planes to Brittish Airways flight #314 leaving London at 12:55pm and arriving in Paris (De Gaulle) at 3:15pm Paris time.
